Horsehead Crossing Celebration

Oct 9-10, 2026

Western history, where it happened! Horsehead Crossing was one of the few places to cross the Pecos River in west Texas, whether on horseback, in a stagecoach, or with a herd of cattle. Opened up the site to the public each fall by the Goodnight-Loving Trail, Inc., you can stand where Native Americans, explorers, settlers, soldiers, and cowboys all stood.

Enjoy chuck wagon meals, historians and presenters, cowboy poetry, gunslinger shootouts, live cannon fire, re-enactors, walking tours, and more! Free dry camping.
