The Western Heritage and Film Festival is produced by the non-profit Rim Country Artists, which works to connect community through the arts. The festival originated in 2023 with the desire to enhance the World’s Oldest Continuous Rodeo, held in Payson every second weekend of August since 1884.
In 2026, it includes showings of nine films, including a screening of Best Feature award-winner A Ranch Musical; a concert by singer, songwriter, horsewoman, and actress Kristyn Harris; an open mic cowboy poetry session; a poster contest (deadline July 1); the awards ceremony; BBQ luncheon with storyteller Bob Boze Bell; and more.
